8 West Tankerness Lane is a quality, late Victorian, stone-built house, mid of a unique terrace of four, centrally situated in the historic capital of Orkney.

A warm welcome awaits you at No 8!  A tea/coffee tray is set for your arrival, together with a peedie “Taste of Orkney” hamper.  (Peedie is a word used by most Orcadians.  It is derived from Old Norse and means little.)

The house is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and all rooms are tastefully furnished and decorated.

Accommodation comprises lounge with dining area, separate kitchen, and bathroom on the ground floor.  Upstairs there is a spacious double bedroom and a single/bunk bedded room.   The house is heated throughout with oil-fired central heating - a cosy and comfortable home-from-home retreat

The garden at the rear of the house is sheltered with trees and shrubs - ideal for relaxing at the end of a busy day sightseeing.

The house is ideally situated for touring Orkney. Within easy walking distance in Kirkwall is the main street with its many gift shops, together with St Magnus Cathedral and Tankerness House Museum with the Earl's and Bishop's Palaces nearby.  It is also near the travel centre, the harbour, the marina and waterfront, leisure centre (with cinema), internet café, restaurants, pubs and supermarkets, with a full sized golf course and open countryside just beyond.
